WHIRED = white+red

  simply pronounced: {wired}

A unique wine bar experience in Downtown Sacramento.

A great place for wine newbies and wine-geeks and anyone in between!

WHIRED (pronounced “wired”= white+red wine) is located across from the Golden1 Center, DOCO and Macy's.

With a modern-industrial interior, WHIRED fits perfectly into the downtown Sacramento scene.  Easy to walk to with great places to relax inside, this wine bar was designed to appeal to anyone in search of great ambience, tasty small plates and fabulous wine.  In addition to its extensive wine-by-the-glass and bottle offerings, WHIRED also serves BEERs on tap, sake and sangria.

John Marco, a former manager at San Francisco’s erstwhile Suisse Italia Cafe, has long held a passion for the local wine industry, attending wine sensory and tasting classes at the UC Davis Extension program and volunteering at wine harvests. He was inspired to open WHIRED Wine after hearing a speech by Mayor Kevin Johnson about making Sacramento a world-class destination. “[That] motivated me to do something for this city,” John says.

“Sacramento is a miniature California—diverse culture and we have a little bit of everything,” John says. He hopes his business will reflect that, offering an eclectic and casual place for guests to relax during happy hour or before and after events at the Golden 1 Center Arena.
